I am on permanent vacation.
I have tried to think of all the things I would do when on a trip, on a vacation excursion, or on an adventure. Then I set about duplicating those things right here at home.
I am retired. Not having to commute has been a huge benefit. Not having to wind my hair up on hot rollers or twist it around a curling iron has been a nice benefit - my hair has appreciated it. Not wearing any makeup has been nice. Not having to buy certain clothes to wear has been great on the budget. Not having to go outdoors when the weather is not welcoming to an aging body is really a good thing. All in all it has a lot of pro's to it.
The flip side of that is making sure I stay busy and also, have fun.
So being on permanent vacation is the answer.
When taking a vacation I like to stay at a nice hotel; one that has amenities like free breakfasts. I like a room that includes a coffee pot, a microwave, a fridge or a kitchenette. Yes, I want them to have cable tv or satellite. It has always been a priority that they have a swimming pool and a jacuzzi (or spa or hot tub, whatever name you choose for the hot bubbly thing). Once I even stayed at a hotel that had a hot tub in the room. I did like that a bunch because you filled it yourself with water like a bathtub and could therefore choose just how hot you wanted it to be. I really liked that because usually those things are way too hot for my liking.
So - here at home I have antenna tv for all the network channels, Roku for all the streaming channels, so that takes care of that. I have a deep 'air tub' in my bathroom. I admit I do not use it nearly as often as I thought I would. <sigh> So that takes care of that.
Now I have that Meta Quest 3 so I can visit whatever tropical island, beach, mountain, lake, or forest that the world has to offer in there. That takes care of that.
I have a complete kitchen of course. No free breakfast. Well, I guess a person can't get too greedy, huh?
Anyway, I am loving living this vacation life. It is awesome.
I said I was going to try to be less doomy, (is that a word?) and more uplifting, so I will be including a something, maybe a quote like today, in my blogs from now on starting now.
“You cannot do kindness too soon, for you never know how soon it will be too late.”
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
