Life. It Never Stops Moving and Changing.

I keep comparing my current self to my old self. I have to quit that.
Have you ever stopped for a moment — really stopped — and noticed how much has changed around you? The kids are a little taller. The seasons have shifted. A recipe you used to make every week has been replaced by something new. Life doesn't ask permission before it moves on.
I've been thinking about this a lot lately. There are days when I feel like I'm running to keep up — with the family, with the kitchen, with the creative projects piling up on my craft table. And then there are days when I look around and feel a deep, quiet gratitude for exactly where I am.
Change Is the Only Constant
We talk about change like it's something that happens to us. But I think change is something we're always in the middle of — whether we notice it or not. The meals we cook evolve with our families' tastes. The art we make reflects where our hearts are at. Even the way we talk to each other shifts, slowly and quietly, over time.
I used to resist change. I wanted things to stay comfortable, predictable, safe. But life has a way of nudging you forward anyway — through a new challenge, a new season, a new version of yourself you didn't know was coming.
Finding Stillness in the Movement
What I've learned — slowly, imperfectly — is that you don't have to stop the movement to find peace. You just have to find your footing within it. For me, that looks like a warm kitchen, a creative project in progress, and the sound of family nearby. It looks like writing things down, making something with my hands, and sharing a meal.
Those small, ordinary moments? They're the anchors. They're what keep me grounded even when everything else is in motion.
A Note to You
If you're in a season of change right now — big or small — I just want to say: you're not alone. Life moves fast, and it doesn't always feel fair. But there's something beautiful in the fact that it keeps going. That we keep going.
Here's to the messy, moving, ever-changing journey. I'm glad you're on it with me. 💛
