Why does it cost more?

I keep asking myself why the stuff they tell you is good for you, or at least better for you than the stuff you are already eating costs so much more?
There are these apps that you can use to 'rate' your food. One, my doctor told me about, the other I found on my own. The first is called YUKA. I have probably mentioned that one before. The second is called ZOE. I have both on my phone now.
So I was eating Cheerios. Supposed to be good for you. Good for cholesterol and therefore good for your heart health. The apps tell me no, that it is not good for me.
YUKA does recommendations or replacements and said to use Quaker Granola Maple and Brown Sugar instead. It gave it a low rating too but instead of horrible it was passable if you did not eat it often. What kind of recommendation is that?
So I checked out what that would look like for me and learned that it costs a lot more than Cheerios. If you are used to buying the store brand rather than the Big G stuff then you will for sure be in for some sticker-shock.
I looked for something similar that might be cheaper and I found Cheerios Oat Crunch Honey stuff cereal. I copied and compared the side panels of each cereal.
Pretty close but it turns out the Quaker cereal was a little bit healthier especially if you paid attention to the ingredient list.
So why does it cost so much more?
The complaint that it costs too much to eat healthy is really starting to take a foot hold with me, very much so now that prices have gone up significantly.
It's hard to stick to a budget and to continue eating the same, considering that they tell you what you are eating is not healthy for you after all after telling you it was for so long.
I am more than a little bit irritated about it.
Striving to continue to eat healthy and find things that actually are good to eat for my health continues to be a challenge. So for now, adding some sort of something on top of my cottage cheese (which they also say is not good for you) has gone to the wayside. Not fair.
In spite of all that here is this week's menu list:
Black Bean Burgers with cheese with all the fixins except buns, + air fryer fries.
Red Chili with garlic bread
Roots and Greens
BCQ Trio
Salmon with Bakers and Broccoli

Did you hear about the first restaurant to open on the moon?
It had great food, but no atmosphere.
