So, we finally are conquering the leftovers. LOL. We did our special stuff and our special celebration. Oh yeah....we had ice cream cake!! It was delish. We had chicken- apple- sausage, hot dogs. Really. We toyed with the idea of going to the deli and getting fried chicken and potato salad but didn't want to overdo the whole eat unhealthy thing. <sigh>

Anyway it's time to get back on track and come up with some healthy menus for this week. My doctor suggested that I download an app called YUKA and I did. It scans the bar codes on a selected food item and gives you a food rating for that item, and it tells you why it rated it that way, and it also makes healthier suggestions if it got a poor rating. For instance, I scanned the bar code on a loaf of bread that says it is 100% whole wheat and YUKA gave it a poor rating because it has 'risky additives'. It suggested as a healthier option Dave's bread and Ezekiel bread.

So that is going to influence what I will be eating in the coming days. It is stupid hot here where I live right now so I need to pick things that are not going to cook me out of the kitchen with heat. I do love salads. I'll let you know what all I decide on.
