Oh yes, I could rag on and on about taxes and the various thoughts I have about them but I will spare you all that dribble and angst and shoot the arrow right at the reality that the time has come to pay.
My huge complaint about it (at this time) which I carry-on about every year at this time is why on earth they decided to make the taxes due just a few days before the Holiday?
That's when people are selling their gifts from last year to pay for gifts to give this year and then they are hit with the tax bill !
It's nuts. Who the heck decided on these dates for tax bills to come due? Whoever you be do not meet up with me in a dark alley on a dark of the moon night when I'm in a mood.
Okay, got that off my tummy chest.
On to the plan for the feast day coming up this week. Pretty much thinking a traditional feast. The turkey, the stuffing, the cranberry sauce, the mashed potatoes and gravy, the green bean casserole, the dinner rolls and butter, the mac and cheese and instead of pumpkin pie I'm doing pumpkin muffins. Have to have something different this year.
Yes, you are right, I am including 'cheat' items this year. Stuffing is the over the limit carbs, the cranberry sauce is over the limit in sugars, add the rolls, the muffins the potatoes and you have a calorie count that will make the dietician shiver.
Hey, I went without cheesecake so I could do this so I am doing this !
Still it's going to be almost all homemade and not as much processed foods as I could have done. I will try to hold back as much sodium/salt as I can and I will be adding yogurt to the potatoes instead of sour cream.
I hope you are able to have a fantastic feast yourself. Happy Holidays to you all !
