It's still weeks away.

I am still thinking I will order that $40 feed 10 deal for thanksgiving. I mean you get a whole turkey and 5lbs of potatoes, that's $15 right there. Then all the other stuff.

But Thanksgiving is still weeks away and I plan to eat between now and then. Plus there are other things that will have to be ordered to complete the meal, like eggs for the pie.

Still I think it's a good deal.

If you make use of the EBT or SNAP or as I have always called them, Food Stamps, then I am hoping you will have them in time for the Holiday ordering.

I have seen all kinds of news clips about community groups working to help their communities out during these times. I have seen news clips about individuals adopting families or individuals like seniors or veterans to supply them with what they can until normalcy is restored.

So if you are in need do not hesitate to reach out to whatever local groups, churches, or community resources you have in your area. Food banks and food pantries are stocking up with the anticipation of more people finding food insecurity at this time.

One number to call in Oregon : Call 800-699-9075 Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Pacific Time.

In Washington, Oregon and Idaho - dial 2-1-1.

If there is something I can do to help, email me and I will do what I can.

If you want help budgeting while still being able to feed yourself and your family let me know. I was able to get everything I need to make this weeks dinner menus, lunch menus, snacks and breakfast items for under $70. More will be spent on the weekend in order to get water, bread, cereal, bananas and cottage cheese. It will still be under a total of $100. This will feed two of us without skimping anywhere. I could keep that even cheaper if we needed to do that.

Just email me and I will tell you all about good nutrition on an easy simple budget. You will have to do a lot more home cooking but you can do it pretty easily with a crockpot, an air fryer, a griddle, a stew pot, a working oven. Any or all of these will do.

You just won't be buying prepared foods - they are less healthy, they cost more, and they do not go as far. Bread not included in that.

In the meantime, Why did the frog take the bus to work?

His car got toad.
