How many cups of tea with one tea bag?

I discovered that many people think that a tea bag is to be used just one time, that each tea bag is single use.
Not so.
Each tea bag can be used for at least 2 cups of tea. I've been doing that for a really long time.
Recently, with the situation with decaf coffee I am drinking a lot more tea (or herbals, tinctures, etc.) I am using the term tea quite loosely because we all know tea only comes from actual tea leaves grown in China.
Anywho, because of this I am making 'pots' of tea in my coffee maker. I place my regular unbleached coffee filter in the basket, place a tea bag right under the dripper, (without any paper tag) and pour in six cups of water. I turn on the extra strength (push the button on the machine to make a stronger brew) so that the tea can steep a little bit before dripping down into the pot.
This has been working really well. So far, every type and flavor I have tried brews quite well, making 6 full cups.
So to answer my own question I say six cups is what one tea bag can do properly.
I thought I would pass this along in case you are also dealing with the decaf shortage. Or maybe you just like to make a whole pot of tea at a time and want a quick, easy way to do that.
Why wasn’t the cactus invited to hang out with the mushrooms?
He wasn’t a fungi.
