Wanna hear two short jokes and a long joke?
Joke, joke, joooooooooooooke.
This week's menus:
Orange Chicken with Brown Rice
Pasta Tamahtah
Corn Fish Chowder and Pitas
French Toast and Fakon Bacon (Tofu made to taste like bacon)
Chicken Taco Soup and Salad
It annoys me when I receive a web address from a recognized establishment purported to be a free website with access to FREE stuff. (I use that word 'stuff' a lot I guess).
So I get this flyer from my state pension outfit that tells me that because I live in this state and am a retiree from this state I get access to all kinds of free publications on this website, and they provide the web address. I go there and try to get access to something and it tells me I do not permission to access this. So I try something else and I get the same message. It says all you need do is enter your zip code, city and county and 'Voila' you have free access.
Bungus Bogus. <sigh>
I feel like that tuna fish dude Charlie -- Sorry Charlie.
That bugs me.
This is not the first time I was told I would be provided free stuff that did not pan out. These are offers from supposedly credible sources. It's frustrating. It's not just that it's a lie or a waste of my time, it's the whole tone of the country right now where deception is becoming normalized. Where it is somehow okay to mislead people; to entice them with pretty words and then cheat them.
It's not that big a deal, really, so it's easy to just brush it off and walk away. And I see that as the problem.
Anywho, enough about that.
I should mention that the Fakon Bacon needs to marinate at least an hour ahead of time to suck up that flavoring. The longer though it marinates, the stronger the flavor will be so I like to give it an overnight soak in the fridge. My tofu is in the fridge becoming thin strips of Facon Bacon. I plan to have that french toast tonight.
I have the strawberries and the whipped cream to go on top. I know. I am being indulgent. I give myself permission to sway a bit now and then. This is a now. <smile>
Why were they called the Dark Ages?
Because there were lots of knights.
