Watch Out!

Everybody is touting big sales on all kinds of things, from that counter-top ice maker I have been considering to that Ninja Blender I have eyeballed for a few years to blow up Halloween costumes. But beware - keep your eyes peeled because the shipping on those sale items that seem like such a great bargain is turning out to be nearly as much as the price of the item. For example that ice-maker? On sale for $37. Good price, right? Shipping on that bugger is $32. What the heck? What kind of deal is that? So watch out!!

Today is Tuesday which means creating menus for the coming week which starts on Thursday.

Automatically we put fish on the menu for Friday Fish Day. Then deciding what to go with it is easy because I happen to always like air-fryer fries with fish. It brings back those happy memories of dinner (or lunch) out at Skippers where I would always order fish & chips and have loads of their tartar sauce. And that came with coleslaw, of course. This time of year I am more inclined to have something warm instead of cold salad or coleslaw. (Yes, I am dressing in layers and still cold with the furnace running). Doggone ghosts.

Again thinking of trying to stay warm from the inside out, I am thinking thick stews, happy soups, biscuits and gravy, and more comfort foods. What are you thinking? What appeals to you? I am still eyeballing that feed 10 for $40 deal at Aldi's and Walmart.

Ugh...gotta run, my phone is making noise and that bugs me so I have to go take care of that.
