Frugal Me

I am super conservative when it comes to spending money. I am constantly figuring out ways to save money, to spend less (is that the same thing?) to maintain a tight budget.

This applies to everything; clothes, furniture, linens, shoes, socks, office supplies, craft items, and of course food.

So I have been doing some comparison 'looking' before shopping.

Now that Amazon has food beyond that expensive stuff at Whole Foods, ie: their own brands and stuff, and they offer free delivery for any bundle over $25, I had to give it a serious look. Especially knowing that past comparisons in clothing and household goods has shown Amazon to usually be a better bargain.

I did the work - now you don't have to unless you want to spend your time in it because I am going share it with you.

As you can see, it goes back and forth with some things being a bit cheaper at Walmart and some things cheaper at Amazon.

So the choice becomes whether you are going to order at least $25 or at least $35 worth of groceries in order to get free delivery.

Yes, you are right, Winco is an even better deal but .....Winco does not deliver no matter how much money you are spending at one time. And this is why I considered doing a Winco exclusive delivery deal.

My conclusion is that the prices are comparable. The only other consideration is whether an item is "unavailable" or not. I run into this a lot at Walmart. Since when is Tofu unavailable?

Since this week apparently.

So there you have it. It's a short list but I didn't want to put a giant table of contents here.

I bought the world’s worst thesaurus yesterday.

Not only is it terrible, it’s terrible.
