I had always thought that Memorial Day was a day set aside to think about and to honor those loved ones who had preceded us in crossing over to the other side.
I learned that it is not.
It is a day to honor military service folks who lost their lives while serving.
I honor my brother Ed today. I honor my step-father Spence today. I honor my father Ed today. I honor J.R. today. None of these men lost their lives while serving in the military. All of them served. All them have crossed over. So I honor them today and thank them for their service and bless them in gratitude.
I bow to those who did make the ultimate sacrifice and send thanks to their people who supported them and loved them.
I have so many that have passed that I cannot help thinking of them on this day.
If you have people who gave their lives for my freedom I want you to know that I appreciate their sacrifice. I do not take it lightly.
